Six Flags shooting victims were a 17-year-old boy and a woman, 19, according to the authorities.


Gurnee police released new information in the last 24 hours regarding the shooting at the Six Flags theme park in Gurnee on Sunday. The shooting resulted in three injured people, two with wounds from gunshots.

The police said that a white vehicle was spotted in the parking lot of Six Flags around 7:50 p.m. and headed towards the park’s front entrance. Gurnee police reported that several people exited the vehicle “and began shooting toward another individual in the parking lot.” After firing numerous times, they “got back in the white sedan and quickly left the area,” according to a press release issued by Gurnee police.

A bullet in the upper thigh injured a 17-year-old from Aurora. A 19-year-old woman from Appleton, Wisconsin, suffered an injury from a gunshot to her lower leg. Both victims of shootings are being treated in the Advocate Condell Medical Center.

A third victim was injured with shoulder injuries and refused further treatment. Initial reports suggested that the three victims had been wounded.

This shooting “was not a random act” and “appeared to be a targeted” attack from outside the park, as per Gurnee police.
