South Carolina football defensive back Nick Emmanwori was removed from the game against Tennessee due to a targeting penalty.
COLUMBIA The game was called off after South Carolina football defensive back Nick Emmanwori was ejected from the Gamecocks the team’s last home match of the year, Saturday against No. 5 Tennessee after being cited for a smack at Vols tight-end Princeton Fant.
Emmanwori is a freshman from Irmo has taken over as a security on the Gamecocks (6-4 3-4 SEC) since senior R.J. Roderick’s injury in the first week of the season. Roderick has since been admitted to the transfer portal in addition, South Carolina has struggled with depth at defensive back following the season-ending injury suffered by David Spaulding.
