The police are identifying Lancaster, Texas, the brother of former N.F.L. cornerback Aqib Talib as the suspect in the fatal shooting of a coach in an event for youth football in Texas.
Yaqub Talik Talib is the suspect in the shooting on Saturday night which killed a man, police in Lancaster confirmed. The authorities haven’t yet identified the person. However, family members and friends have claimed he was a trainer.
Yaqub Talib was not currently in custody at the time of his arrest on Sunday, and warrants were issued to arrest him. The Associated Press sent a message asking for updated information on the hunt for the suspect.
Yaqub Talib is the younger brother of Aqib Talib, a five-time Pro-Bowler who declared his retirement in 2020. Aqib Talib was selected in October as a guest contributor on the Prime Video show “Thursday Night Football.”
Dallas television station WFAA said their brothers serve as coaches for the North Dallas United Bobcats, an academy football team.
Youth coaches from the D.E.A. Dragons identified the person killed with the name of coach Mike Hickmon, WFAA reported. Dragons President Mike Freeman said the dispute started after Hickmon tried to retrieve the football and was kicked by someone who threw the ball away.
How do I explain it to them? Why?” Freeman stated.
